We provide Tofino's Finest Surfing Lessons, in Tofino on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Whether you are a beginner trying surfing for the first time, or a surfer wanting to improve on their skills, we have lessons to fit both needs. Westside Surf School's owner and professional surfer, Sepp Bruhwiler, and his team of certified surf instructors are dedicated to teaching people how to surf in a safe and friendly environment. After practicing on the beach, enjoy learning to surf with the confidence of a trained professional helping you in the water at your own speed.

3-Hour Daily Group Surf Lessons
Learn to surf with your friends and make new ones with Westside Surf School's 3-hour daily group surf lesson. Daily Group Lessons start with beach instruction and practice learning ocean/surf safety, equipment knowledge, basic surfing skills, surfing etiquette and much more!
3-Hour Private Family Group Lessons
The 3 Hour Family Group Lesson is designed for those groups with young children (ages 5 yrs to 11 yrs) who are excited to learn how to surf. The emphasis will be placed on the safety of the children, while they are having fun and keeping them in this smaller group setting.
3-Hour Private Group Lessons
A 3 Hour Private Group Lesson is a perfect option if you choose to surf with just your friends or family members. Private group lessons are ideal if there are younger children in the group. Private Group Lessons start with beach instruction and practice learning ocean/surf safety, equipment knowledge, basic surfing skills, surfing etiquette and much more!
5-Hour Day Camp
Spend the day surfing at one of the beautiful beaches Tofino has to offer. This 5 hour Surf Camp is great for students ready to hit the waves and surf all day! This 5 hour Day Camp Lessons start with beach instruction and practice learning ocean/surf safety, equipment knowledge, basic surfing skills, surfing etiquette and much more! This lesson includes a lunch break followed by a second surf session.
2-Day Camp
Learn to surf this summer with Westside Surf School's 2 Day Surf Camp. Westside 2 Day Surf Camp is a progressive 2 days camp with 3 hours of surfing per day and a full 24hrs Surf Rental. Learn all the basics the first day, and continue practicing and learning new skills the next day. Learn from the pros, who are patient and encouraging, we focus on having fun! This 2 Day Camp is for everyone ages 13 and up!
Private Lessons
Receive quality, personalized 1 on 1 surf instruction. Private Lessons are for people of all ages and surfing abilities. You may have ridden waves before and wish to work on more advanced techniques. Private lessons are also recommended for younger children who need extra attention.
Private 1 on 1 Coaching Session
Receive quality, personalized 1 on 1 surf coaching from one of our Professional Surfers; Shannon Campbell-Brown or Sepp Bruhwiler. Private Lessons are for people of all ages and surfing abilities. You may have ridden waves before and wish to work on more advanced techniques.
Special Group Rates
Learning to surf is fun and even more fun when you bring your friends! Weither it is a family reunion, school group, wedding party, etc. Westside Surf School can accommodate larger groups and we will help work around your schedule for groups over 15.

Important Details
- Please bring a bathing suit for girls and boxers for males, to wear under the wetsuit.
- Surfboards and wetsuits are only available for the duration of the lesson.
- Bring a bottle of water as well.
Cancellation Policy
Any cancellations within 48hrs of the lesson booking (or failing to show up) will incur a fee of 100% of the lesson cost, per person, to the credit card holder that the lesson is booked under.
